Chief Operating Officer:
Wabash Valley Health Center (WVHC) is seeking an experienced and mission-driven Chief Operating Officer (COO) to join our executive leadership team. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic healthcare leader to help shape the future of a growing Federally Qualified Health Center dedicated to improving the health and well-being of the communities we serve.
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the COO will provide strategic and operational leadership for WVHC's clinical and administrative operations. The COO will play a key role in advancing organizational goals, enhancing operational efficiency, supporting quality patient care, and ensuring the long-term success of the health center.
Working collaboratively with the CEO, Chief Medical Officer, Chief Financial Officer, staff, volunteers, and community partners, the COO will lead initiatives that strengthen organizational performance while maintaining a strong commitment to WVHC's mission of providing accessible, high-quality healthcare.
Key Responsibilities
Provide executive leadership for the day-to-day operations of the health center.
Implement organizational policies, programs, and strategic initiatives.
Ensure operational activities align with WVHC's strategic plan and mission.
Promote a culture of quality, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Support the delivery of exceptional patient care through efficient and cost-effective operations.
Monitor performance metrics and identify opportunities to improve clinical, operational, and patient experience outcomes.
Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local healthcare regulations.
Foster strong relationships across departments to build a cohesive, high-performing team.
Support grant management activities and organizational sustainability initiatives.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Public Health, or a related field required; MBA, MHA, MPH, or other relevant master's degree preferred.
Minimum of five years of progressive healthcare leadership experience with demonstrated success in operational management, team leadership, and organizational performance improvement.
Experience in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), community health center, or other safety-net healthcare setting preferred.
Experience with federal and state grant writing, grant management, and compliance preferred.
Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations governing healthcare facility operations.
Ability to exercise sound judgment, manage competing priorities, and lead through change.
Demonstrate ability to develop and maintain cohesive, high-performing teams while fostering collaboration across departments.
Excellent organizational, communication and relationship-building skills.
Knowledge of quality improvement, population health, value-based care, and healthcare performance metrics is desirable.
